Poetry

Poem - this world of dew - 2Poetry uses symbol and metaphor to convey abstract ideas.

Most holy books were written as poetry. A number of poems have been written as prayers. Favorite poems help us understand things that matter.

Some have described the act of writing poetry as similar to prayer where, as poets search for ways to express themselves, words may be received. The mysterious source of this (the Muses, the subconscious, the creativity that some refer to as God?) can feel like something more or other than themselves. They appreciate regular contact with this source of inspiration, and the occasional insights that come were described by one poet as “moments of grace”.
